I think Season 6 has 18 episodes but I don't know if it is actually 16 as the premiere episode and finale are both 2-hours long.

My brain hurts.

I love Lost but sometimes It's better to PVR the show as the commercials are unbearable.

Sayid sounded really weird at the end, I know he just woke up from death but it still sounded different.

So I guess Johnavatar used to be the leader of the 'others', and the others and Jacob turned on him and trapped him. That's why he said he was dissapointed in them.

The temple guy reminds me of John Lennon.

Yeah, I thought the same thing.

I recognized the "leader" of the temple from alot of movies like the Last Samurai, Rush Hour 3 and Sunshine. I'm a little confused if there are two realities going on with scenes of the whole plane landing safely or if it is just giving us insight on what life would of been like.

Pretty solid episode.

The producers said last night was basically a "flash-sideways", which pretty much tells us there are alternate realities. The other idea that I saw that I liked was that Sayid is actually Jacob, which is why Miles couldn't get anything from the "dead" Sayid. This is how a friend of mine put it:

"Yeah I think sayid is Jacob. He was obv dead. Jacob knew sayid was gonna die and prob knew he could only be reincarnated through sayids body in that temple which is why he had them take sayid there. "

I don't know though, it's all so damn confusing.

That is also what I thought. But it doesn't really sound like Jacob to ask "what's going on?" though.

The guy is listed as Lennon on IMDb, I don't know how reliable it is... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1453335/fullcredits#cast

The guy is named Lennon.

Good first episode...dud of a second one.

I've loved everything about Lost, so I will give the producers the benefit of the doubt, but I'm not a fan of the Flash-Sideways at this point in time.

Me neither I don't really see what it can add to the story

If the whole idea is that they're trying to get a new Jacob with the Oceanic flight 815 peeps in order to be king of the island. That's pretty lame.

TBH, I don't think any ending will live up to my high expectations.

Wait a minute, when Helen (Locke's gf) talks to Locke when he's in the bath she suggests having a wedding in Vegas with her parents and John's dad.

So does that mean that John and his dad are on good terms in the sideways reality? If so, does that mean that his dad didn't push him out the window? Then what caused him to get paralyzed in this reality?

 :)HMM :)HMM

You are correct GF. It seems Locke was paralyzed by someone else. Also on Locke's desk their is a picture of him and his father. Same father from the old flashbacks.

Also, if you believe that these flash-sideways are caused because the bomb went off...a big hole in that theory is seeing Ben as a teacher. If the bomb went off...and the island sunk...then you would think Ben died. We know he was on the island when the bomb went off.

Cool seeing Hurley meet Locke. And Hurley still own the company that Locke worked for.

The numbers are back. Why wasn't Kate mentioned? Also 23 Shepard....could that mean Christian and not Jack?

Finally, coming from a mixed religious family, I'm not one for reglion...and don't really get into it when it comes to lost. Even though it very well could play a factor.  But I found this very interesting.

The ladder New Locke and Sawyer went down lead to Jacobs cave. You could call the ladder, Jacob's Ladder -a ladder to heaven, described in the Book of Genesis, which the biblical patriarch Jacob envisions during his flight from his brother Esau.

Few Thoughts:

Jack's kid has blue eyes. His ex-wife in the flashbacks at brown eyes. Is it a different woman? Could it be Juliet(blue eyes) who was meeting with Sawery for dutch coffe when Jack when to find his son at her house.

Names on the lighthouse dial- Saw Linus(Ben) but it was crossed out. 51- Austen(Kate) was also on the list, not crossed out. She was missing in the cave.

Claire said she has been hanging out with her Dad and her friend(Man in black/new Locke/Smoke Monster). I was always under the assumption that the smoke monster turned into Christian Shepard. Because we know the Smoke Monster had(keyword) the ability to turn into other forms. Maybe this isn't the case, maybe the smoke monster never turned into Christian Shepard.

Wasn't Christian Shepard supposed to be Jacob? We know the man in black has the ability to change his appearance, so why not Jacob?
I don't remember exactly what happened during previous seasons but Christian Shepard was in a cabin that was surrounded by dust, which is a protection against the black smoke. Who was it by this time Jacob? or the black smoke that they tried to lock down? I think it was Jacob, after all he helped Locke to go and bring back the Oceanic Six (some of the candidates).

But the lack of talk here :I am thinking most agree with my thinking that this season has been a bit of a let down.

So far the season has been stellar but the last episode was one of the worst episodes of Lost I can remember seeing.

I was a fan of the flash-sideways at first but it seems 80% of the material in the new episodes is that stuff....it'll be interesting to see how it ties in.
