Hardball?

Note to Hump: We just drafted 2 hustle/rebounding forwards. We also plan on signing forwards. If you want any PT, you better opt out.  :)DY

There is next to no risk in the Nets purchasing a pick.
At this point, might as well just wait & pick up the undrafted scraps.

There goes Warren. He meets up with his old buddy Griffin.

Robinson (no longer needed since we drafted James), Torrance & Sherron Collins are still on the board. I can see us offering a contract to one of the PGs.

Toronto Raptors got one of the Maverick draft picks. I'm not sure who... Just heard on radio.

Edit: It's Solomon Alabi

Alrighty... well that ends the draft. Next up is July 1st.

Lets hope the spectacular deals we turned down (Granger...) actually wasn't for nothing.

What exactly did we trade CDR for again? Bucks with Jennings and Bogut seem like a team on the come up, not quite sure if the 2012 2nd rounder is gonna end up any better then #44 which they just sold. So why couldn't we trade CDR for the 44th again?

Hell check out what the Mavs did. Drafted Alabi and traded him to Toronto for Cash AND a future 2nd rounder and Toronto will suck after Bosh is gone.

So the Nets turned CDR into a Bucks future 2nd rounder.
The Mavs turned the 50th pick into a Toronto future 2nd rounder.

Nets turned 27th and 31st pick into the 24th pick.
Mav turned $3mil into the 25th pick.

Rod, just please retire, i'm begging you. It seems that despite having a 1000 2nd rounders work out here, the Nets really didn't do their home work and had no targets for the 2nd round other then Tiny Gallon, who btw, was draft with Milwaukees last 2nd rounder, the 47th pick! This is just unreal to me. I know this is just 2nd round picks, but how can anyone argue that Thorn is absolutely clueless when it comes to drafting. Too busy playing bluffing Wolves into extra assets, huh, how did that work out again?

Ill take some Manny Harris or Scottie Reynolds.

Little annoyed we didn't buy a pick. Slightly disappointing, but who knows how a late 1st will be. James will contribute.

Top undrafted free agents: Brian Zoubek, Samardo Samuels, Alexey Shved, Jeremy Wise, Mikhail Torrance, Sylven Landesberg, Manny Harris

Medical red flag. Heart issue. Something other athletes have overcome in past. RT @mleetch352 why isn't Mikhail Torrance getting drafted?

Bring in Torrance & Zoubek.

Bring in Sylven Landesberg. I'm surprised he went undrafted. I like him as CDR's replacement and a scorer off the bench.

Um, we have a new owner now, have you heard?

Nets general manager Rod Thorn and coach Avery Johnson will also make the trip, but Thorn has decided to leave his job and retire in July. He hasn’t been happy with the pay cut the new owner has offered, and he also feels that at 69 years old his appetite for the job’s grind has diminished.

Nets ownership will try to move quickly on a replacement, and sources say potential targets will include Oklahoma City GM Sam Presti, New Orleans GM Jeff Bower and San Antonio Spurs GM R.C. Buford. Nets assistant GM Bobby Marks, who has drawn interest in the Portland Trail Blazers’ search, is a strong candidate, too.

Still think we've got an owner with deep pockets?  Paycut to the man who took us from the cellar to the Eastern Confrence Championship.

But that paycut thing was a rumor.  Thorn denied the story of being unhappy.

He's got deep pockets, no doubt about that.

Whether he spends it is a different question.

It's too early to tell on Prokhorov. Way, way too early to tell. The news about us meeting LeBron first, whatever that means, is good news.

Yes, i still think that. Sorry some peoples dreams got crushed when he didn't offer Phill Jackson 20 million rybls but Thorn doesn't deserve the pay check he gets as it is. Yeah, the man who took us from the cellar to the Championship.....and back to the cellar.
