I am very glad to say that we have finally launched our new website. Some of you may remember that I have mentioned it on a couple of occasions. Now it has finally been launched.
Some of you may wonder what I'm talking about, right? OK, let me explain. It is actually the website which portrays everything we – as a group of friends – do for our community. From organizing oratorijs (I'm sure you'll finally see what I mean after you watch the movies), performing skits and stuff, organizing parades, etc. You must bear in mind that the website was made for kids in order to comment on photos, watch the movies, read recaps and so on.
But since some of you showed interest in our activities I am happy to be able to present you our events. Now, I had an idea of even translating the site so that it'd be as well available in English. But after consulting with my friends I decided not to do that. I mean it may seem a bit too much for a site that was created primarily for kids. But since you're my friends I'm now going to translate the basic things so that you won't get too confused when visiting the website.
Instructions on how to use the website:
So, here we go. On the top left corner you have a sign SvetiDuh.si which is actually more than just a link of the website. Sveti Duh is actually the name of our village and believe me or not it literally means »The Holy Ghost« in English. The central picture shows you the village from a nearby hill. Then, above it you have three words. So, first you have Domov (Home). I think it is clear what it stands for. Then you have Predstavitve (Presentations). If you click it you get something like presentations of every guy that is a part of the aforementioned group. You may call us animators, camp-counselors or something like that. So, each person had to answer 6 questions: Datum rojstva (Date of birth), Zakaj si se odločil, da boš animator? (Why did you decide to become an animator?), Tvoja najljubša risanka? (Your favorite cartoon?), Kaj počneš v prostem času? (What do you do in your leisure time?), Si kaj ušpičil, ko si bil majhen? Seveda si...Kaj pa? (Did you do anything wicked when you were a kid? Of course you did...And what?), Kaj si si želel postati, ko si bil majhen? (What did you want to become when you were a kid?). Now, of course we selected those questions in order to amuse the kids...Believe me some stuff is really hilarious. Well, actually mine goes like this: 1. April 6th., 2. Because I was confident that we were able to organize an oratorij in Sveti Duh as well and in that way make a lot of kids happy., 3. Kimba (The White Lion)., 4. I play basketball, take a walk, run..., 5. I broke a window while playing hockey., 6. An explorer.
Alright if you then move back to the top of the page you see Dogodki (Events). If you click it you get all the events that were uploaded so far. And you know what...I'm gonna let you explore it on your own. Not because I would not want to explain all the stuff but because it may be a bit more interesting if you check the things you wanna check. But still I think I have to say some basic things.
If you for instance click Oratorij 2009. You gotta wait a bit since the gallery is being loaded. Then you first get a recap of the event. Again, I'm sorry that it's just in Slovenian language. I would translate it for you but I still have one more exam on my list and I don't have enough time to translate all recaps. I may do that next week. Now, scroll down and you'll see the pics. Some of them are even used as animations since the photos were taken one after another and we were able to create sequences.
And then scroll down right to the bottom of the page and in the lower left corner you have the movie of the event. You simply click the camcorder logo and you're able to watch the movie. Now, some events don't have a movie since we didn't use camcorder all the time.
Now, please move back Home and since I'm sure you wanna know more about our village you can click Predstavitev KS Sveti Duh (The presentation of the local community Sveti Duh) and you will be able to watch a short clip about the village and its surroundings.
And don't bother about the Aktualno section. Because it includes just the application form for this year's oratorij. Well, nevertheless you can check it out if you want to.
I have to say that the website is gonna get even more features once the exam period is over. Me and my friends have really been on a tight schedule and haven't been able to do more so far. Of course people can as well register and comment on the movies and pics, but I doubt that would be useful for you due to the Slovene language.
