I think it's the opposite. Having been in the lower level & nosebleeds at the RBC center in NC for a hockey game, I thought the site lines were much better than when I went to Devils games at the Izod.

I am holding off on the "Bad Seats" discussion until Seats3D has the arena available. That site is very accurate.

Barclays Center Seating Bowl Images Released
Venue to offer intimate seating configurations, unparalleled sightlines, & optimum acoustics

EAST RUTHERFORD: BSE, an affiliate of the Nets, today issued new images of  Barclays Center seating bowl, 1 of the most intimate seating configurations ever designed into a modern, multi-purpose arena.

“Barclays Center will provide unparalleled sightlines & a comfortable, accessible, & enjoyable entertainment experience,” said Alex Diaz. “The seating bowl design places spectators as close to the action as possible, creating an exciting atmosphere for all events.”

The 675,000 sq/ft Barclays Center, to be located at Atlantic & Flatbush Aves, will hold 18K seats for basketball & up to 19K for concerts. Designed by award-winning architectural firms Ellerbe Becket & SHoP Architects, the arena will have 104 suites, including 63 lower level suites (located above the lower level seats), 30 upper suite level suites & 11 suites on the event level.

Levy Restaurants will provide the finest culinary experiences throughout Barclays Center, including for the signature restaurant, which will be located on the lower suite level with views overlooking Flatbush Ave & the bowl. Barclays Center will feature 6 clubs, including the Legends Lounge, located on the main concourse, which offers direct views to the basketball court & concert stage, as well as an exclusive suite level lounge for premium seat holders, located on the lower suite level, which also has views to the basketball court & stage.

Additionally, the arena is designed with extra-wide entry ways into the seating bowl allowing for easier & faster access for fans. There will also be integrated seating for the disabled within all seating classifications.

Barclays Center will have a technologically advanced, custom-designed center hung video & scoreboard, with video screens & multiple layers of LED canvasses for scoring & sponsorship messaging. A large view portal will allow those outside of the arena a view into the seating bowl & the scoreboard from the ADT Plaza & Flatbush Ave. Also, the bowl will contain fascia LED displays, as well as 2 end zone LED video displays.

In optimizing the event experience for spectators & performers alike, Barclays Center will have specially designed & placed sound reflective materials to redirect the crowd sound back to the court or stage. At the same time, sound absorbing materials will be placed at strategic locations to enhance the concert sound qualities required by artists & concertgoers. The volume of the interior ceiling area of the arena, created by the graceful arc of the roof trusses, further reinforces the optimized sound qualities needed for both sporting events & concerts, creating a truly flexible & multi-purpose venue.

In addition to Nets Basketball & high-profile concerts, Barclays Center will host an extensive range of top pro, collegiate & scholastic sports, family shows, & much more.

Construction on Barclays Center site is ongoing & the arena will open in '12. In Jan '07, Barclays,  signed a 20-year naming rights of the arena.

If this place ever gets built, it could be a really intimidating arena for opponents, with all of those seats right on top of the court. Of course, that will involve drawing more than 5,000 fans.

Hopefully, the number of members on Nets 24/7 will rise.

At least we can say we followed them during the 09-10 season.

After reviewing the renderings, NYU Prof. Robert Boland, (sports management) said Barclays Center’s interior has "a very retro feel to it," similar to Conseco Fieldhouse.

He said Barclays’ sight lines are better than MSG’s (which is "no shock" because the Garden is 42) but are "no better" than what the Nets currently offer fans at IZOD Center.

"The positive here is that there’s a lot of lower-bowl seating, which makes this is a great place to see a concert & should help the Nets sell more tickets, but it appears there’s too many seats behind the baskets that obstruct court-side views," said Boland, who rated the arena design B-.

The place hasn't had it's groundbreaking ceremony, & it is already getting ripped.

Makes me look nice. I didn't rip Citi Field until I went to my seats.

The fact that the NYU dude doesn't think this place is better than IZOD Center makes me embarrassed to be an NYU grad. What a turd-for-brains. The IZOD Center SUCKS!  :(WTF

Any arena is better than the Izod for basketball at least. I had a talk about the new arenas a while back and come to a conclusion that all the new arenas look the same and don't have that unique feel a arena should have. Like Fenway has the Green Monster for example. I'm gonna miss the Continental Airlines Arena(What I will remember it as). Went to a lot of Nets games during my eighteen years there.

From Netsdaily -

Quote
It may be Bruce Ratner's last official act as the Nets' principal owner and Jay-Z's first appearance at any Nets-branded  event this season.  Thursday's Barclays Center ground breaking in downtown Brooklyn will feature them as well as the team's CEO, Brett Yormark; Barclays CEO Bob Diamond; and three of the project's biggest political supporters: Governor David Paterson, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Brooklyn Boro President Marty Markowitz.  No word if any of the Nets will be on hand.  The team will between games in Dallas and Oklahoma City, although Yi Jianlian will be available, ankle boot and all. Not on hand: Mikhail Prokhorov, who awaits approval by the NBA Board of Governors. Also expected, protestors from Develop Don't Destroy Brooklyn.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 1:30 at the corner of Fifth and Atlantic Avenues in Brooklyn, acccessible via ten subway lines and Long Island Railroad at the Atlantic Terminal station, now promoted as part of the overall Atlantic Yards project. The ground breaking will be covered live on YES.

Wouldn't it make more sense to do it after the road trip, so Harris & Lopez, guy who might be with us in 2012-2013, can be there?  :!!DO

Seats3D.com told me they supposed to have some views of Barclays Center up in the next few weeks. They are also working on doing it for the Rock, though you can see the lower level views under the Seton Hall Pirates tab.

Interior Planning and Key Features

The multi-story main public lobby is entered by passing through a transparent glass curtain wall engaging the vibrant urban plaza. A large view portal between this entry space & the arena seating area allows views into the seating bowl from the plaza & Flatbush Ave. & vice versa. The entire entry sequence has been carefully choreographed so as to give visitors orientation clues & heighten their sense of anticipation. In addition, visitors entering the lobby can directly access the main box office & Nets team store, as well as find a view to the practice court that is 1 level below grade. This view in to the Nets practice facility will be available to passers-by on Atlantic Ave. as well.

Barclays Center concourses are designed to be wide, graciously active & accommodating with well distributed food & beverage locations. All restrooms are strategically located & designed to be easy to find, are fully ADA compliant & are sized to accommodate internal queuing. Prominent, active retail spaces are integrated into the main public concourse so as to contribute to the street life & activate the internal space.

Ticketholders to Barclays Center seating will experience 1 of the most intimate seating configurations yet designed into a modern multi-purpose arena. All seating types, from the most affordable to the most exclusive, have been designed with into the arena with the goal of all having the best view to the floor as possible – conveying a sense of being “right on top of the action”.

I am starting to look forward to it.

They can pull down the (Insert Corporate Name) shades.
There will also be WiFi available. Just what we need. More people on their electronic devices during games. It is ridiculous. Bad enough people text & yak on the phones during games, but now, they can bring their netbooks & do work on it.
Are the Nets moving the Front Office / PNY Center from their current location in East Rutherford (390 Murray Hill Pkwy) to Newark or not? It is pain to relocate for just 2 seasons, then relocate again, but it is about 11 miles away from the Rock.

I believe there's only one other NBA team that has their practice court open to the public's eye. That's the Pacers with Conseco Fieldhouse I think. I don't quote me on that. I might be thinking of another team.

Edit: It is the Conseco Fieldhouse.
